The chickens have been mobilized!

At the beginning of May, we brought our newly constructed chicken tractor out to pasture. Inside the mobile chicken tractor, our flock has everything it needs - nesting boxes, roosts, water, and supplemental food. However, by moving their mobile hen house every week, they continuously have new rangeland and forage. The chickens are happy foraging, while we enjoy the benefit of tastier eggs and natural fertilizer for our fields!

On March 26, 2014 Colorado River Ranch acquired their first chicks!  Our chickens are primarily bantams with several Rhode Island Reds.  All the chickens are free-range, and began laying eggs at around 6-months old. We couldn't be more excited!

All of the chicks are growing up fast!  Below are some videos of what the original chicks look like now, including more chicks we have acquired along the way!
