MEET THE HERD

Split-Ear
Split-Ear, aptly named for a notch in his right ear, was a gentle soul, a great companion and an excellent trail horse until his retirement in 2016. Born in 1987, Split-Ear passed away peacefully in the spring of 2018 at the age of 31.

Tim & Andy
Tim & Andy are a pair of Percheron draft horses that pull the beautiful Colorado River Ranch wagon.

Amigo

Rowdy
Unlike his name would suggest, Rowdy is a very calm and gentle trail horse. He is an experience trail horse, having worked for many years at Beaver Creek Stables before coming to Colorado River Ranch.

Patches
Patches joined the Colorado River Ranch in 2014. He comes to us with years of trail riding experience and is enjoying his leisure time on the ranch.

Monkey
Monkey was born in 2008 and joined our herd in the summer of 2016. Monkey came to us with roping and riding experience in the arena, and is currently in training to run barrels. When Monkey is not being ridden, he loves to snuggle.

Charlie
Charlie is the new kid on the block, born in April 2017.

Chez
Chez, formerly known as Cheese, has been on the Colorado River Ranch since 2011. Chez, born on May 4, 2001, is kind and dependable.
